What is the Best Travel System for Babies 2011?

There are lots of debates on the best travels systems for babies, if you're considering a Gracco or a Chicco travel system this article looks at two leading travel systems by these brands and compares them. The travel systems being compared are the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe Travel System and the Chicco Cortina Keyfit 30 Travel system.
The advantages of both these travel systems are as follows:

  • Large car seats that have large weight capacities so should accommodate your baby for some time before you have to buy a new one (until about 1 year old).
  • Strollers both have 50 pound weight limits so should last your children well into their toddler years.
  • Lots of Extra Features including easy access storage, cup holders, one hand folding mechanisms and more.

So which is the best travel system for babies? Read on for a comparison of Graco vs Chicco.

Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe Travel System with Snugride32,

Car Seat: Includes SnugRide32 Infant Car Seat and a stay-in-car adjustable base.

Car Seat accepts children rear facing to 32 pounds so will last for quite a while.

Stroller: Holds children up to 50 pounds so you probably won't have to buy another stroller as it will accommodate most toddler aged children.

Takes just one hand to fold the stroller

Has 2 cup holders (for drinks for both parents when out and about)

Drop-down storage basket and you can get your stuff even when the stroller is fully reclined

There's a lot to make baby comfortable too - removable head support, and child's tray with cup/snack holder that pivots open for easy stroller entry

Stroller: Stroller holds up to 50 pounds.

The adjustable, multi-position canopy offers maximum protection from weather.

Graco Vs Chicco - Which is the best travel system for babies?

Both travel system for babies offer similar features. Having said this, the Graco travel system is slightly cheaper but the Chicco travel system has extra features such as a flat recline for newborn babies and newborn infant padding.

Having read all the reviews on Amazon my choice would be the Graco stroller. This is because the main selling points of these travel systems is that with the large weight capacity car seats (30 pounds for the Chicco and 32 pounds for the Graco) and strollers that accomodate infants up to 50 pounds you are buying travel system that will last. However, the Chicco car seat has reports of babies as young as 8 months outgrowing the car seat. Additionally, the Graco is slightly less expensive.

However, you may think the best travel system is the Chicco. It does offer better positions for newborns such as the insert and padding and extra features such as the multi position canopy.

I would recommend to click through to Amazon and read the reviews when deciding on which to go for. Graco vs Chicco - the choice is yours.

yes i agree with the reviewer regarding the chicco. i own one and my son out grew the car seat when he was 6 months. i do love the stroller and have taken it with us on numerous trips out of town and state. i also use it quite often when i'm out running errands and shopping. although it is bulky and a bit heavy, my son is comfortable in it. i love the 5 point harness in the stroller but we don't really use that. my son likes to lean foward to eat his snacks in the tray so we unclip the sholder strap. he is still buckled in so i feel that he is safe. another thing i don't like about it is that i can't really hang heavy bags (diaper bag, shopping bags) over the handle because it becomes unbalanced and the stroller usually tips over, very unsafe. you must be careful when placing your items around/on the handle bar area. i'm searching for a new travel system as a gift. i'm still glad to see that chicco is still the best out there. i've been wondering about graco so i might gift that because of cost and my sister is not as outgoing as i am so she may not take advantage of what the chicco travel set fully offers. another note, chicco says that it only takes one hand to fold it down but i have to use two hands because the padding on the chicco has plastic buttons so it comes loose easily. my husband has improvised and used velcro to hold the padding in place but it still comes loose every now and then. it's the worst to fold down when the padding is loose because you have to push both sides in really hard to click it close. also, the basket is small (holds medium purse and diaper bag only) and it's hard to get things in and out when the seat is fully reclined. i hope this has help those of you out there wondering a little more about the chicco travel set. i do recommend it because i feel i've fully used it and my son is comfortable in it.

I had an older version of the Graco travel system and loved it. The only other singleton stroller that I had (needed) was a no frills umbrella stroller. I might have enjoyed a fancier travel system, but my Graco worked great for all three of my kiddos.
