Best Gifts for Three Year Old Boys

My son is about to turn 3 (in just a couple of days). I have had lots of friends and relatives ask what are the best gifts and toys for a 3 year old boy as they don't have a clue what to get him. Therefore I have compiled a list of top gifts and toys for 3 year old boys based on the toys my son currently loves and what he has asked for.

The best toys you can buy a 3 year old boy are quite often car and vehicle related. My son is car crazy. He can't have too many. He has lots and lots and puts different ones in his pocket when we go out and takes one to bed at night.

His grandma is buying him a toy garage for his birthday which is he so excited about. So a garage is a top toy. The plan toy garage opposite is durable and has good reviews on Amazon. His other grandma is buying him a big red fire engine which he is just as excited about. The fire engine opposite can squirt water and has lights and sounds.

We are buying my son is first scooter for his 3rd birthday. He has been very interested in other children's scooters and I think he will love it. I am expecting him to take a while to get used to using it but I know it won't be long before we are finished practising in the back yard and will be out and about in the playground.

My son has the Melissa and Doug See and Spell featured opposite. He was given it a couple of months ago and this has been a great buy. He loves fitting finding and fitting in the letters next to the pictures. It has been a good toy to help him recognise the letters. He is very engaged with the toy and he concentrates hard. As he gets older it will also help him to spell certain words. The reviews on Amazon are good too.

Jigsaws make great educational toys for parents, carers and 3 year old boys to do together. Choose a jigsaw with a picture they are interested in such as fire engines or a favorite TV character.

Another of the best toys for 3 year old boys include marble runs. My son received one of these a couple of months ago and its; a toy he plays with nearly everyday. We have had to help him build the marble runs at the beginning but it's quite fun for adults to have a go as well. Now he is turning 3 he has started to be able to put the pieces together and build them himself.

There are some great games for 3 year old boys.

My son has Tomy Pop Up Pirate and this is a fun game. Put in the swords and the winner is the one who makes the pirate pop up. It's simple and fun and great for teaching little ones how to take turns. However, my son loves it so much he sometimes plays on his own.

Don't just think about traditional boys toys when buying for 3 year old boys. There are lots of other toys my son loves too. At the playgroup he goes to he quite often plays with the cash register. He is very interested in money and likes playing shop. Look for a cash register with a credit card like the one opposite as they love using that too.  

Another idea is a tea set. There is one he plays with a lot at his Grandmas house. He really enjoys making tea for everybody and pretending to drink it. He enjoys it so much we have asked a relative to buy him his own for his birthday.

My son has had a wooden train set since he was 2 1/2 and he still loves it so it would make a fantastic gift for a 3 year old boy. My 3 year old loves putting the tracks together and will play for a long time pushing the trains around it. Its also a toy that they have at the playgroup we go to and all the boys hover around it.
