Buy the Best Ipod 2010 : Ipod touch vs Ipod Classic

By

Choosing between the Ipod Touch and the Ipod classic in 2010

Choosing the best apple ipod for you depends on what you want and need. There's three major differences between the ipod touch and the ipod classic. Firstly price, the ipod classic is more expensive than the touch.

Secondly, space. The ipod classic has 160 GB of memory enough to store your entire music collection and videos (up to 40000 songs,  200 hours of video, or 25,000 photos). It is a portable hard drive. It is obviously a lot more bulky than the touch because of this but you can take all your music, photos, audiobooks and video everywhere you go.

Thirdly, the ipod touch has wifi access and the internet. A lot of its fantastic features do require internet access but if you get free wifi at your place of work, school, friend's houses, restaurants and other places you frequent it is a good tool to get Internet on the go. If you don't envisage using the Internet /E-mail  it may be worth getting another ipod (you could also consider other ipods,  read this article for more comparisons).

The Ipod Touch : Game player, Social networking and More

Other great features about the ipod touch include the fact that's its a great portable game player.

There are lots of great features you can use if you have wifi access including maps so you can find out where you are and where you need to go to.

There's also social networking apps which help you update and keep in touch on Facebook, Twitter etc.

Listen to music and watch movies on the go on the 3.5 inch screen. Great for when you're traveling.

There's also a keyboard which is good for typing out e-mails.

Some of the cons of the ipod touch include is the amount of money you spend on apps may add up if you buy a lot. Also, you may also want to get a screen protector. Sometimes the screen can be covered in smudges so may need wiping over a lot. But these are minor issues when considering all the features the touch offers.

The Ipod Classic : Memory, memory, memory

Choose the classic if you want something to carry all your music on and your main priority is memory. If you want a basic ipod with lots of space for all you songs, its definitely for you.

It looks good. The controls are away from the screen which some people prefer.

The screen is 2.5 inches so smaller than the ipod touch but sufficient to watch movies on, when you're on the go.

Was just shopping for these for a friend. Great Hub.

Wow now, Touch is definitely more expensive. The Classic is about 20 dollars more than an 8GB, which in my opinion isn't much. If you were to get a touch, invest another 50 dollars for the 24 GB if you really enjoy music. But other than that, truth.
