The best car seat for 4 year olds should fulfill the following requirements:

Have head support and be comfortable so 4 year olds can rest or sleep on long journeys

Will adapt to grow with the child so it will last for many years. Many car seats suitable for 4 year olds will adapt to become a booster seat to they can be used when the get older.

Are easy to clean and wipe down.

Some have extra features like a cup holder that 4 year olds will appreciate.

Most 4 year olds have reached the required weight for a booster but still need a car seat to give them extra support when resting and so they can't escape from the straps!
