Read on for some good prenatal workout DVDs below.
10 Minute Solution : Prenatal Pilates
This DVD contains five prenatal pilates workouts each lasting 10 minutes long. I did pilates classes during my first pregnancy which were quite gentle, however I prefer this DVD to the classes as I feel it gives you much more of a workout. After a 1st trimester of feeling sick and not exercising much this DVD has really helped me get back into shape.
The five workouts include standing pilates, pilates for your abs, pilates for legs, a full body pilates workout and a pilates workout for strength and flexibility. It isn't quite like the pilates I'm used to as the instructor moves on quite quickly between exercises. However, I've quite enjoyed doing it as the fast pace stops you getting bored. Its also great as you can do one routine if you have a spare 10 minutes or put all the routines together for a 50 minute workout.
Prenatal Fitness Fix with Erin O Brien
This DVD contains two workouts. A forty minute workout which you do on your own and a 20 minute workout which you do with a partner.
I have only done the forty minute workout as I haven't got a willing partner but I do enjoy doing this workout. The workout contains a good warm up. There are lots of squat, press ups and toning exercises throughout the main workout, floor work and a cool down too. It currently suits my level of fitness. It gets my heart rate up without getting you out of breath which is perfect for a pregnancy DVD. Its also challenging to the point where I can't finish the reps of all of the exercises so I have to push myself. I can see myself getting fitter again with this DVD.
Perfect Pregnancy Workout
This is the next DVD I'm going to purchase for my pregnancy fitness regime and when I do I'll post a personal review. If you want to read personal reviews on this DVD click on the DVD to go to amazon.com as there are lots there and they are very good too.
This DVD is very appealing to me as I think it will be quite challenging. The instructor Karyne Steben is a world-class acrobat formerly with Cirque du Soleil. She takes you through this sculpting workout with a nice combo of upper and lower body exercises. There's options for beginners and advanced exercisers. It includes a 43 minute pregnancy exercise workout: 5 minute warm-up, 33 minute workout, 5 minute cool down. There is also a 12 minute instructional section explaining proper technique for pregnancy exercise.
